Since its opening in 2004, the Hotel Urban has acquired a rich collection of tribal pieces Papua New Guinean which now makes up a private collection composed of approximately 200 items, 100 of which are permanently displayed in the hotel.
During the Madrid Hotel Week you will be able to see carved totems from the Tambaran houses, carved ritual drums, painted ceremonial shields, ceremonial chairs, masks made from yam, Yipwon sculptures, Mindja sculptures, Ancestral Hook sculptures, large vungvung masks and an important collection of jewellery and ethnic items of clothing which can be seen both in the communal areas of the hotel and the Sala Museo.
Don’t miss the Buddhist, Hindu, Chinese and Khmer art pieces which can be found in all the hotel bedrooms.
