Celebrating the Almudena day in Madrid on November 9, the ASEMPAS (Madrid Handmade Pastry Sector Entrepreneurs Association) and the Madrid Corporate Hotels Association are arranging an unique event that will consist of cooking the biggest “Corona de la Almudena” ever.
In one of the participating Madrid Hotel Week hotels, (more information online), a Master Class taken by the Madrid Bakers Association and the Hotel’s Chief Baker will be taking place, where you will learn how to cook a delicious “Corona de la Almudena”.
This dessert that was created in 1978 by the Madrid’s Bakers Guild in honor of their patron saint (La Virgen de la Almudena), and is made up of flour dough, eggs, milk, a sugar and water syrup, and is stuffed with cream, truffle or custard cream.
